Anticipation for The Mighty Ducks TV series has been strong since the series was first announced in 2018. Officially titled The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers, excitement for the series was prolonged after the COVID-19 pandemic delayed production.
While the series was teased during Disney Investor Day 2020, no actual footage was released to the public. That is, until now.
Today, Disney+ released a teaser for the series. The video reveals that the series will premiere on the streaming service on March 26.
Starring Lauren Graham and Emilio Estevez, the series picks up in present-day Minnesota after the events of the 1990s film series. It follows Alex (Graham) and her son Evan (Brady Noon) as they start their own youth hockey team.
Produced by ABC Signature, the series will run for a total of 10 episodes. Both Graham and Estevez are involved behind-the-scenes as executive producers. Steve Brill, creator of the original film series, Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yuspa co-created the revival. Goldsmith and Yuspa, known for their work on hits such as The King of Queens and 13 Going on 30, are the series’ show-runners.
